Diante do ataque perpetrado pelos Estados Unidos contra a República Árabe da Síria, na noite de quinta-feira (6), o Secretariado do Conselho Mundial da Paz emitiu uma declaração em que condena a escalada agressiva do imperialismo na região. Leia a íntegra da nota.
Declaração do Conselho Mundial da Paz sobre o ataque com mísseis dos EUA contra alvos sírios
O Conselho Mundial da Paz denuncia e condena os recentes ataques com mísseis dos EUA contra alvos sírios em 6 de abril, como um ato de maior escalada da intervenção imperialista na Síria e na região, com base no suposto uso de armas químicas na cidade de Khan Sheikhoun perto de Idleb pelo exército sírio, crime ainda em investigação.
O bombardeio dos EUA contra a Síria constitui não só a violação dos princípios da Carta das Nações Unidas, mas também a continuação das políticas norte-americanas das administrações anteriores dos EUA, agora pelo governo Trump.
Depois de ter criado, treinado e financiado grupos mercenários armados como o “ISIS” e outros, os EUA, a Otan e a UE, juntamente com os seus aliados na região, estão a dar apoio aos grupos terroristas, através de ataques ao exército sírio. Não é a primeira vez que isso acontece.
Por trás destes ataques estão os planos para o estabelecimento de um “Grande Médio Oriente” com o controle de recursos energéticos e oleodutos e com regimes submissos e novas fronteiras.
O CMP expressa sua solidariedade para com o povo sírio e os povos da região por seus direitos de determinar livremente e sem qualquer interferência estrangeira seus caminhos.
Denunciamos também a hipocrisia e a dupla moral dos imperialistas, que apoiam e ou promovem ataques a povos e nações, levando centenas de milhares a se tornarem refugiados e, ao mesmo tempo, “derramam lágrimas” pelas pessoas deslocadas que fogem para salvar suas vidas.
O CMP conclama seus membros e amigos a condenar as intervenções e os planos imperialistas na região e a expressar sua solidariedade para com os povos que dela necessitem.

[:en]The World Peace Council denounces and condemns the recent missile attacks of the USA against Syrian targets on 6th April,as an act of further escalation of the imperialist intervention in Syria and the region, based on the alleged use of chemical weapons in Khan Sheikhoun town near Idleb by the Syrian army, a crime with suspicious motives.
The US bombing of Syria constitutes not only the violation of the principles of the UN Charter but is also the continuation of the US policies of the previous US administrations, now by the Trump administration. After having created, trained and financed the armed mercenary groups of “ISIS” and others, the USA, NATO and the EU along with its allies in the region, are providing support to armed terrorist groups, through attacks on the Syrian army, not for the first time. Behind these attacks are the plans for the establishment of a “Greater Middle East” with the controll of energy resources and pipelines and with willing regimes and new borders. The WPC expresses its solidarity with the Syrian people and the peoples of the region for their rights to determine freely and without any foreign interference their fortunes. We denounce also the hyprocrisy and double moral of the imperialists, who support and/or carry out attacks on peoples and nations, driving hundreds of thousands to become refugees, and at the same time “shed tears” about the displaced people who run away for their lives.
The WPC calls upon its members and friends to condemn the imperialist interventions and plans in the region and to express their solidarity with the peoples in need.
